Dear Family and Friends:
Well, here we grow again! As we continue to take care of families not only from the Panama City Hurricane Michael areas, but now from other states!
John R. Venincasa and his wife, Mary, and daughter, Jamie were on vacation over in the Destin, FL area, when John had a serious stroke. John is in the ICU at Sacred Heart hospital. Mary and Jamie along with John’s service dog is now staying with Penny and Bob C. Please keep John in your prayers. Per Mary, he is starting to make some progress, but they know he has a long way to get back. This family is from St. Louis, Missouri.
Linda Laboe from Santa Rosa Beach, FL remains at the Haven. Husband, Joe, is right at her side. Linda continues to recover from a massive stroke also. Joe will come to the Vineyard for a quick shower and bowl of soup. Please continue to pray for this sweet couple.
Michael Freeman was hospitalized last week and now continues his chemotherapy and radiation for throat cancer. Barbara, his wife has told me that Michael is doing fairly well with all the treatments and they so appreciate Ken H. for opening his home for them to stay the 6 hours Michael has to wait between therapies. Thanks so much Ken!
Sylvia Taylor remains at West Florida hospice center. Daughter, Sharon Edery had a tedious time gaining the visa to stay here. Sharon will be staying here at the Vineyard. Mrs.Taylor, per Sharon, has brain cancer.
Sheila Lee remains in the ICU at Sacred Heart hospital with a rare bone marrow cancer disease called MDS. Mom, Carolyn, has been staying with us. Sheila is just 47 years young. Has a wonderful family that comes from Crestview as much as they can. Husband, and two teen age daughters.
We are also taking care of in the family of Amy Deakin. Per her parents, Kathleen & Dennis Leysen, Amy has had a brain aneurysm. Very serious condition. The Leysen family are from Elmira, MI.Thank you again Angie L for taking in this family!
Douglas Raffield is also a Martha’s Vineyard family. Per his wife, Douglas has an infection in the lining of the back side of his heart. Doris, his wife, sister-in-law, Ovaline Keen, and daughter, Sharlene Dixon have been staying with us. They are all from the Panama City area. Mrs. Keen and Sharlene are staying with the Raffield families as their houses were destroyed by Hurricane Michael.
Blessings to all of you for your prayers and continued DONATIONS! We are assisting our families with gas, grocery cards, and yes, needed money to help them out. If it were not for the outside, angels assisting us in carry for these families we could not do this. Thank you so VERY much!
