Dear Family and Friends:
It is with our deepest condolences we report that 36 year old Paula Martin passed away last night at Baptist Hospital from an lung fungal infection per her sister, Angela Hires of Castleberry, Alabama.  Angela, Paula’s daughter, Heather, son, Chris, and another daughter had all been staying with Penny C., one of our back-up host families.  She has been at Baptist for about two weeks.
Per Victor Fooks today, his dad, Marvin is not doing well either.  He has been on ECMO at Baptist hospital in the CCU unit for the past two weeks.  Mr. Marvin had fallen off a ladder in Alabama.  Victor came in from Norfolk, Virginia.  He said as of tomorrow, he will be taken off ECMO, as he has not shown any improvement.  He feels that his passing will occur fairly quickly.  Please keep him in prayer as these decisions are being made tomorrow.
We welcomed in the parents of 45 year old Chris Hubbard of Hattiesburg, MS.  Per his mom, Karen, Chris is in end stage COPD.  Chris is on a ventilator and has a feeding tube.  She was telling me he has had severe asthma pretty much all his life.  His parents will now be staying with Penny C., one of our back-up hosts.  Chris is at Select Specialty hospital.
Jakub Gilmore was sent to the Navy hospital for further in-patient treatment per mom, Korie.  She was telling me his pneumonia is clearing up well enough for her to return back to Houston, Texas.  We are so glad to hear that Jakub is on the road to recovery.  He is active duty U.S. Navy in “A” school at N.A.S.
Cari Hill, just 41 years young is heading back to surgery in the morning per her parents, Gina and Joe Hill who have been staying with us.  She has developed a “pocket” of infection in her lower abdomen that is to be drained per Gina.  Cari is still recovering from being hit by a car now 3 weeks ago.  Her broken ribs are still healing as is her left hip and left collar bone.  She is in the SINU at Baptist hospital.
Michelle Fawks is doing a little better each day per David, her husband who has been staying with us.  Michelle is recovering from a brain aneurysm.  Per David, if Michelle can stand she can transfer to a rehabilitation hospital near their Alabaster, Alabama home.  David has been staying with us also.
Christy Taylor is also doing better per her mom, Sherry who has been staying with us.  Christy is also recovering from a severe stroke.  Christy is just 39 years young also.  She and her family is from the Panama City, Florida area.
Tom Gorman of Miramar Beach, Florida continues to slowly progress from his massive stroke now 3 months ago.  When Robin his wife can come, she stays with us here at the Vineyard.  She is trying in earnest to get him transferred to a rehabilitation center closer to their home.
Richard Higbee is also recovering from a stroke and is in rehabilitation at Select hospital.  Carol is one of our “in and out” house guests!  This sweet couple is from Chipley, Florida.
Yes, we are VERY busy here.  But, we serve a God that is VERY big too!
Blessings to all of you, Love Always in His Name!
