Dear Family and Friends:
Blessings to each one of you this Thanksgiving Day!!!   What Dennis and I “thought” was going to be a quiet day has turned into quite a different day.
Dennis was working on a business matter yesterday.  A grandmother who lost her home in Panama City from Hurricane Michael is buying a home here in Pensacola.  She and her four teenage grandchildren are living in a hotel room until the closing December 12, 2018. John and Marie D. just “happened” to stop Tuesday night and dropped off a frozen turkey.  We were thawing it out to cook and decided to give this family the turkey.  We then received a call from Margaret B.  She had been given a complete thanksgiving meal and just needed a little of it for herself.  Could we use it?  Not only was our turkey replaced, but a whole meal came!  We added a lot of other foods for this family.  What a blessing it was to deliver them this hot meal today.  God always provides!
We welcomed in the family of Kitty Morrison.  Kitty and her husband live in Panama City, FL.  Due to stress, and damage from Hurricane Michael, Kitty sustained a major heart attack.  She is scheduled for open heart surgery in the morning at Sacred Heart Hospital.  Kitty & Charles’ children are in from Lafayette, Indiana.  We will have a total of 6 family members staying here.  Thanks again Margaret, they are all enjoying your dinner now as we write this update.
Mr. Douglas Raffield remains at Select hospital recovering from sepsis and diabetic issues.  This family from Panama City was staying with us.  Their car was destroyed after Hurricane Michael.  They will be coming back as soon as they can.  We continue to pray for Mr. Raffield.
John Venincasa is recovering from a stroke.  Wife, Mary and daughter, Jamie are staying with Penny C.  This family is from the St. Louis, MO, area.  John is at Sacred Heart hospital.
Sheila Lee is in the ICU at Sacred Heart Hospital. Sheila has a rare bone marrow cancer.  Per her mom, Carolyn who has been staying with us, Sheila’s bone marrow is not responding to the chemotherapy the doctors have been trying to treat this cancer.  Carolyn is a strong Christian and loves her Lord.  She loves her daughter too.  She is asking for all your prayers for her daughter.  Sheila has a loving husband and two teenage daughters who come as often as they can from Crestview.  Sheila is 46 years young.
Sylvia Taylor is a patient at Select hospital who had a brain cancer removal surgery now about a month ago.  Daughter, Sharon from Toronto, Canada, is staying with us.  She was telling me this morning that her mother is not doing very well.  She fears that her quality of life is not ever going to be what it once was.  Please keep Ms. Sylvia in your prayers too.
Michael Freeman is doing VERY well according to his wife, Barbara.  Michael has throat cancer.  He has been undergoing both chemotherapy and radiation on his throat.  Staying with Ken H. because there is six hours between therapies when they drive in from Florola, AL, Michael had a little set-back and had to be hospitalized for a couple of days.  BUT, when he was able to get back on this regimen, he saw his oncologist this week and was told that his tumor had shrunk 75% since treatment started and he is only one-half way done.  He is even more confident of a positive outcome.  Thank you so much for all of your continued prayers!
Liinda Laboe continues to make slow progress from a stroke at the Haven rehabilitation.  Joe, continues to stay right beside her and encouraging his bride.  He comes to our house a couple of times a week for a hot shower and perhaps a bowl of homemade soup!  Joe and Linda are from the Santa Rosa Beach, FL area.
We want to extend our deepest condolences to the family of Amy Deakin.  Per her parents, Amy passed away from a brain aneurysm.  Amy was just 47 years young.  She leaves behind her husband, and parents, Kathleen and Dennis Leysen of Elmira Michigan.  The Leysens could not say enough kind words about Angie L. and her husband for allowing them to stay in their guest house.  Thanks so much Angie!!
Blessings to all of you today.  Keep praying!!!
Love, Always in His Name!!
