Dear Family and Friends:
Our move day is getting VERY close! Despite having Covid, Dennis and I continued to work at the Euclid home. Being quarantined for nearly 30 days allowed us to literally paint, pack, and sort through everything. Most of the household will go to the main house on Strong Street. Because our storage locker had 8 inches of water after Hurricane Sally, we had to move back furniture to Euclid that we are sending to our children. So, we will “stage” the Euclid house with some nice oak furniture. Very little furniture will actually follow us to Strong.
Dennis and I have both tested negative for Covid! Honestly, I don’t know how I could have gotten Euclid done without him. He has been my “nurse” this whole time. I continue to cough- a lot. I am on round three of antibiotics. I am so grateful that Dennis and so many of our volunteers only had mild symptoms. I would advise everyone, please take this virus seriously.
While we have been working on Euclid, our faithful carpenter, Patrick Rowe, and his wife, Candy have been busy getting the final touches done on our apartment. Because of Covid, we could not take a chance of exposing anyone else.
We are still working with the insurance company on the final figures from the hurricane damage to Strong Street. This we know: We need a new roof, new fence, repair the Carriage house roof, repair on the staircase to our apartment, repair to ceilings upstairs of the main house, replace the wet insulation in the attic of the main house, and a sump pump for the basement of the main house.
With that being said, this coming Tuesday is GIVING TUESDAY. The day set aside by Facebook to match dollar for dollar up to the first 7 million dollars. We pray you will give us careful thought and consideration. My only request is that IF you can, donate to us as early in the morning as you can.
At 8:00 am, eastern time, the match begins. Pensacola is in the Eastern time zone. I made sure our donation went in at 7:01 am!
Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay 6 feet apart. Stay smart- wear your mask and wash your hands as frequently as you can.
Blessings to all of you, Love Always in His Name!
